Individual music therapy

Individual music therapy sessions are typically provided in home. These sessions are one on one interactions with the music therapist and client that involve building a therapeutic relationship and using music as a medium to address the client's specific goals and needs. The music therapist might engage the client in playing instruments, singing, improvising, listening to music and more. Through these interventions, the therapist aims to address physical, emotional, cognitive, communication, sensory, and social needs. Sessions are always client centered and work towards the clients therapeutic goals.

Group music therapy

Group music therapy sessions can take place in a variety of settings such as schools, senior centers, the community, treatment centers, and more! Group sessions can promote social interaction, encourage teamwork, and provide a supportive environment for individuals to express themselves and build connections through music. In group sessions, the therapist aims to address physical, emotional, cognitive, communication, sensory, and social needs. Sessions are client centered and tailored to meet the needs of the group. Interventions may include group singing, playing instruments together, songwriting, movement, collaborative improvisation, and more!

Therapeutic music class

Therapeutic music classes combine music therapy and music education techniques. Classes are typically held in schools or daycares. They may work on similar goals as group music therapy sessions, but goals of the group are not formally tracked. Classes are focused on engagement through music. While doing this, participants can increase social interaction, communication, coping skills, movement, and learn musical skills.

Adapted music lessons

Adapted music lessons are customized music instruction sessions designed to accommodate individuals with diverse abilities and needs. These lessons are client centered and tailored to the specific goals of the learner. The therapist adapts teaching methods, materials, and instruments to ensure that the student can actively engage and learn at their own pace. These lessons not only help participants develop musical skills, but also offer therapeutic benefits, improve self-esteem, and enhance overall quality of life. Lessons are typically provided in the clients home. Lessons are available for guitar, ukulele, piano, and vocal instruction.
